EBONY R. RIVON

Ebony R. Rivon is currently the Managing Attorney of the Rivon Law Firm, PLLC, which specializes in family law, estate planning and probate in Dallas, Texas. Ebony serves on the Executive Board for Dallas Bar Association Family Law Section and is a member of the Annette Stewart Inn of Court.

Ebony received her Bachelors of Art in Psychology and a Minor in Business Administration from Texas A&M University where she graduated magma cum laude, along with University Honors and Foundations Honors. She received her Juris Doctorate from Georgetown University Law Center.

Ebony is very involved in local and state bar associations. In 2015, she served as President of the J. L. Turner Legal Association and is the current Chair of the J. L. Turner Legal Association Foundation. In 2013, Ebony was the Vice-Chair of the Family Law Section for the National Bar Association. Ebony will be the 2018-2019 Chair for the State Bar of Texas African-American Lawyer Section and is a two year member of State Bar of Texas Diversity in the Profession Committee.

Ebony believes in serving her community. Ebony is the Founder of the Antioch Baptist Church Legal Clinic and past Chair of the Dallas Bar Association Volunteer Attorney Program Pro-Bono Committee. She is a member of the Dallas Junior League and serves as the project coordinator for St. Philips School & Community Center. Ebony is also a chartering member of the Dallas Women’s Lawyers Association Foundation established in 2017.

Ebony has been recognized for her achievements on a local and national level. She is a member of the inaugural class of the D Magazines Best Lawyers under 40, which is premiered in the January 2018 issue. In 2018, Ebony also is recognized and featured as a Top 100 Up-and-Coming Texas Rising Star and a Top Women Attorneys by Texas Monthly Magazine.

In August 2017, Ebony received the National Bar Association’s 40 Under 40 Nation’s Best Advocates Award and their 2017 Excellence in Service Award.

Since 2015, Ebony was selected as a Texas Lawyer Rising Star and, for the past four years, received the Best Lawyers in America in Family Law by the Best Lawyers Magazine.
